Chen Wang

Born in July 1964. B.S. 1986 University of Science and Technology of China. Ph.D. May 1992 Virginia University. Postdoctoral 1992-1993 Arizona State University. Professor of Normal University of Central China 1994. Joined Institute of Chemistry CAS in July 1995. Now professor and director of Youth Lab of Nanotech CAS. Council member of Vacuum Physics Academy of China. Deputy director of Interface and Surface Physics Committee of Chinese Physics Society. Visiting professor in Normal University of Central China.

Systematical study on scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) theory and its application. Founded STM systems in low temperature strong magnetic field and ultrahigh vacuum condition studied on physical and chemical properties on the surface of nanoscale matter and obtained several significant novel achievements. Made great progress in nucleic acid condensation by using STM which provided a novel method in understanding the micro-mechanism of this phenomenon. Put forward diffused model of electrons at low energy state for the first time in studying on micro-mechanism of nano-manufacture on the surface of materials. Gave several invited reports in international conference.
