Nanoscale will be a “top-tier” high impact international journal, publishing research of the highest quality across the breadth of nanoscience and nanotechnology. The journal is a collaborative venture between RSC Publishing and leading nanoscience research centre, the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (NCNST) in Beijing.
The journal will have high-profile and very visible monthly issues containing a full mix of articles on experimental and theoretical work, including reviews, communications and full research papers. It will provide authors in our rapid-growth field with a dedicated nanoscience and technology journal characterised by the quality, speed of publication and innovative technology for which RSC journals are renowned.
Submissions will be handled by three high-profile regional Editors-in-Chief. Professor Chunli Bai (Director of NCNST and President of the Chinese Chemical Society) will head the Asia-Pacific office, Professor Markus Niederberger (ETH Zurich, Switzerland) will be Editor-in-Chief for Europe and Africa, and Professor Francesco Stellacci (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA) will cover The Americas.
Highly interdisciplinary, Nanoscale will appeal to scientists, researchers and professionals interested in nanoscience and nanotechnology, including the areas of medicine, materials, energy/environment, information technology, detection science, healthcare and drug discovery, and electronics.
The first issue of Nanoscale will be published in the last quarter of 2009. The journal will be published on a not-for-profit basis by the Royal Society of Chemistry. All work published in 2009 and 2010 will be free-to-access to all, maximising its visibility. The journal will be fully indexed in ISI and other leading databases.
