National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, China (NCNST) Cordially Invites Global Talent and Distinguished Scholars

Co-founded in December 2003 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Ministry of Education (MOE), the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, China (NCNST) serves as China’s premier state-level research hub dedicated to nanoscience and nanotechnology.

Our mission is to function as a world-class center for original fundamental research and transformative industrial technologies, while serving as an open platform that fosters talent, international collaboration, and global innovation.

Over the past two decades, NCNST has emerged as a global leader in the field, consistently ranking among the "Top 10 Institutes of CAS" in the Nature Index. Aligned with global scientific frontiers, major national strategic needs, key economic sectors, as well as public health and well-being, our strategic priorities currently focus on the precise assembly of nanomaterials, ultra-sensitive measurement technologies, and the scalable production and disruptive application of nanomaterials.

NCNST plays a pivotal role in the standardization of nanotechnology, dedicated to fostering the standardized, orderly growth of the nano-industry worldwide. We actively engage in extensive domestic and international scientific cooperation, integrating into the global innovation network with the goal of evolving into a world-leading research institution.

Faculty and Research Community

As of the end of 2025, NCNST has 276 permanent staff members, including 199 research scientists and 39 research support personnel. Among them are three Members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, one Member of TWAS, 92 professors and professorial-level senior engineers, and 105 associate professors and senior engineers. We also host 62 postdoctoral fellows.

NCNST is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of scientists. We supports 472 enrolled graduate students (220 master's candidates and 252 doctoral candidates), 95 postdoctoral researchers, and an additional 300 jointly-trained graduate students.
