On February 13, 2026, Prof. Dong-Ha Kim, Vice Director of the Institute for Multiscale Matter and Systems (IMMS) at Ewha Womans University, visited the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, China (NCNST) and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Prof. Zhiyong Tang, Director of NCNST, extended a warm welcome to Professor Kim. He noted the broad prospects for China-Korea cooperation in nanoscience and technology, and emphasized that both institutions should take this opportunity to leverage their complementary strengths in materials synthesis, characterization techniques, and functional applications, jointly advancing research in multiscale matter and systems.

During the meeting, Prof. Kim introduced IMMS in detail. The institute is a national-level research organization supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) under the "National Research Laboratory 2.0" program, focusing on the synthesis, processing, characterization, device integration, and automation. Dr. Caoyu Yang, Officer for International Affairs at NCNST, briefed on NCNST's recent international cooperation activities.

According to the newly signed MOU, two parties will organize bilateral seminars regularly, focusing on cutting-edge directions such as chiral nanomaterials, AI-driven automated laboratories, and multiscale characterization techniques. The collaboration will further deepen in areas including personnel exchange, facility sharing, and joint technology development.

Prof. Xinghua Shi, Deputy Director of NCNST, Prof. Xinfeng Liu, Head of the Department of Science and Technology, and other researchers attended the meeting.
