On September 16, 2026, a delegation led by Prof. Carlos Henrique de Carvalho, President of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), together with Prof. Jose Manoel Marconcini, General Head of Embrapa Instrumentation at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), visited the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, China (NCNST) for institutional exchange and research cooperation discussions.

Prof. Zhiyong Tang, Director of NCNST, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. In his remarks, he noted that China-Brazil cooperation in nanoscience and technology, which began with academic exchanges, has been upgraded to a government-backed framework. He highlighted the productive collaboration between NCNST, UFU, and Embrapa Instrumentation since 2017 in green energy and environmental remediation, including exchange visits, joint publications, and participation in the BRICS STI Framework Program. Looking ahead, he identified great potential in three complementary areas: green energy, nanomedicine, particularly the modernization of natural herbal medicines, and agricultural technology, and expressed the hope that the two sides would identify concrete joint projects, deepen personnel exchanges, and build a lasting partnership.

During the visit, the two sides introduced their respective institutions and major research directions, and held in-depth discussions on research cooperation in nanomaterials and catalysis, personnel exchanges, and joint project applications. The delegation also toured NCNST's laboratories and research platforms.
