Abstract:

In this talk, Dr. Olga Bubnova, Chief Editor of Nature Sensors, will present Nature Portfolio's strategic vision for expanding its engineering research journals, with a focus on driving innovation across interdisciplinary technologies. As part of this effort, Nature Sensors—a new research journal launching in 2026—aims to serve as a central platform for transformative advances in sensing technologies. The talk will outline the journal's editorial scope, including areas such as quantum sensing, wearable and implantable sensors, AI-integrated systems, LiDAR, nanosensors, and environmental and remote sensing. Emphasis will be placed on the journal's rigorous editorial standards, focus on real-world impact, and mission to connect global researchers, technologists, and industry leaders in the rapidly evolving field of sensing.

Info.:

Olga received her master's degree in mechanical engineering from Samara State Aerospace University in 2005. After three years as a systems engineer in the electronics and automotive industries, she completed her PhD at Linköping University in Sweden, focusing on organic thermoelectrics, followed by postdoctoral research on organic photovoltaics at the University of Cambridge. She joined Nature Research in 2015 as an Associate Editor at Nature Nanotechnology, later becoming a Senior Editor. In 2023, she launched Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering, and in 2025, she became the launch Chief Editor of Nature Sensors. She is currently based in London.
