Tittle: Self-assembled organic semiconductors: from molecules to devices

Time: 10:30 June 24st, 2026 (Wednesday)

Venue: Conference Room No.4, Building No.5

Host: Prof. Huiqiong Zhou

Abstract:

A brief history of self-assembled molecules (SAMs) possessing semiconductor properties will be considered. Design and synthesis of SAMs with various conjugated cores, spacer length and organosilicon anchor groups will be discussed. Their application in various organic electronics devices, including monolayer organic field effect transistors (OFETs), ultrasensitive gas sensors and electronic nose of their base will be described. Factors influencing efficiency and stability of the devices will be discussed. Biosensors based on electrolyte gated OFETs containing various functional and semiconducting SAMs will be introduced. Prospects of SAMs application in organic and hybrid photovoltaics will be proposed.
