Education and Professional Experience:

Prof. Xiaohui QIU received his Ph.D. in the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2000. He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of California, Irvine and a visiting scientist at IBM Research Center at Yorktown Height and Ohio State University. In 2006, he joined the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, China as a professor. He was elected as a Young Affiliate of TWAS in 2007, and won the NSFC Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2014. He was the director for the CAS Key Laboratory for Standardization and Measurement for Nanotechnology in the period of 2014-2019.As a leading researcher in the field, Prof. Qiu serves in the editorial board of Advanced Materials Interface, Advanced Electronic Materials, Surface Science, Small Methods, and Review of Scientific Instruments. He has authored more than 110 papers in scientific journals, including Science, Nature Materials, Nature Communications, Phys. Rev. Lett., J. Am. Chem. Soc., etc. His group demonstrated the first image of hydrogen bond in self-assembled molecules on surface, celebrated by Nature Image of the Year in 2013.
