2019–2022: Independent researcher and Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) at the University of Sydney, Australia.
Dec 2022–Present: Joined the NCNST as a PI and Group Leader.
Shenlong Zhao's research interests focus on advanced materials manufacturing and renewable energy technologies. So far, he has published more than 110 publications in internationally recognized academic journals, with an H-index of 60 (Google Scholar), more than 16,000 citations, and 36 highly cited papers in the top 1% of ESI. Fifty of these publications are as first/corresponding author, including Nat. Energy (2), Nat. Commun. (4), Sci. Adv. , JACS, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (4), Adv. Mater. (4), Joule. , Chem(3), Matter(5), Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci., Energy Environ. Sci. etc. For his outstanding contribution, He has received several awards and grants including the 2021-2024 Clarivate highly cited researcher, National Natural Science Foundation of China, ARC DECRA, ARC DP, UNSW-Australian Academy of Science Collaborative Research Seed Program and FH Loxton Scholarships. Also, He has been invited to serve on the youth editorial boards of the following journals (eScience, The Innovation, Nano Research Energy and CarbonNeutralization) and the Individual Reviewer of various prestigious Journals (e.g. Joule, Matter, Chem, Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Acc. Chem. Res.).
