On the morning of October 17, 2025, a delegation from Isfahan University of Technology (IUT) in Iran, led by President Seyyed Mahdi Abtahi Foroushani, visited the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, China (NCNST) for collaborative discussions.

The delegation included Prof. Peiman Mosaddegh, Director of the International Office, along with Mr. Esmaeil Mehryar, Science Counsellor of the Iranian Embassy in China, and Mr. Amin Bazrafshan, Counsellor-designate. They were welcomed by Prof. Guangjun Nie, Deputy Director of NCNST, Dr. Lilusi Ma from the Laboratory of Standardization and Measurement for Nanotechnology, Ms. Jia You from the Department of Education. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Caoyu Yang, Officer for International Affairs, NCNST.

Prof. Guangjun Nie delivered the welcome address, during which he reviewed the long-standing substantive cooperation between NCNST and institutions from Iran. He particularly highlighted that over the past eight years, NCNST has trained eight outstanding Iranian students, many of whom have returned to Iran and are now actively contributing to the country's research and education sectors. He also noted that the joint research project on anti-cancer drug promoted by both sides had achieved significant results, demonstrating strong collaborative potential.

Subsequently, both parties provided detailed introductions of their respective institutions, covering research profiles and international cooperation activities. During the exchange session, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on existing scientific funding channels between China and Iran, reaching a consensus that there are broad prospects for collaboration in complementary fields of mutual interest, such as clean energy, disease diagnosis, and traditional medicine.

Following the meeting, the delegation visited laboratories of NCNST.

This exchange effectively enhanced mutual understanding, identified potential collaborative pathways, and laid a solid foundation for future systematic cooperation, including joint research projects and talent exchange programs.
